The information and consulting company greenValue has successfully supported one of Germany’s leading biogas operators in further expanding its biogas plant portfolio: The company, based in Schwaig near Nuremberg, was involved in the acquisition of the Alterode biogas plant in Saxony-Anhalt by the Leipzig-based BALANCE Erneuerbare Energien GmbH (BALANCE). \u201cOn behalf of BALANCE, we carried out the technical due diligence of the project and, together with their specialist departments, accompanied the transaction until signing,\u201d says Daniel Kellermann, Managing Director of greenValue GmbH, describing the scope of services.<\/p>\n

The biogas plant located in the Harz region has an installed electrical output of 1 MW. After the acquisition, it will be technically modernized under the direction of the new owner. \u201cThe on-site discussions conducted as part of the due diligence showed that efficiency can be further increased through the use of heat. Surrounding farms see the restart of the biogas plant very positively,\u201d says Kellermann. Renewable raw materials and animal residues are fermented in the biogas plant. The electricity is fed into the local grid operator’s power grid.<\/p>\n

Since mid-2019, greenValue has been cooperating in the area of \u200b\u200bdue diligence with BALANCE, one of the leading German biogas operators. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of the energy group VNG AG with its headquarters in Leipzig. The majority of the portfolio, which now includes 35 biogas plants, is located in northern and eastern Germany.<\/p>\n
